RICK

Rick joined on Bass at the beginning of 2023, the first line-up change since the birth of the band, his arrival thus signalling the launch of Candy Twist Mark II.   

 

Rick has been playing Bass and Guitar since the age of 15, performing covers and originals in many bands including a New Wave outfit and a Bowie Tribute along the way.  

 

His influences range from the late 60’s through the subsequent decades, including Quo, Wishbone Ash, Fleetwood Mac, Rory Gallagher and Bowie, the later era’s "angry young men" Weller, Costello, and Joe Jackson. Rick also has a passion for Jazz, Blues & Country, anything featuring great harmonies and an interesting Bass line. Early bass influences include Paul McCartney, John Entwistle, Jack Bruce, Martin Turner and Bruce Foxton.       

 

Rick uses Mark Bass and Ampeg amplification and boasts an impressive Bass armoury including a Fender US Precision, a Squire Jazz, a Music Man StingRay, a Gibson Thunderbird and of course, a Hofner Violin Bass 😉
